Prior to 1943 KewGardens Jeweler was owned by the original owner, in 1943 my father who was the watchmaker for the store purchased it from the founder. Since than it has been our family whom owned and ran the business. In 1972 I took over the running of the family business upon my father passing at the location on Lefferts blvd in Kew Gardens Queens. After 2 robberies in Queens we moved and opened a Store in Margate, Fl. That store was in business untill 2003 when I semi retired to continued to do what I enjoyed doing .Repairing watches and clocks. I was the trade watchmaker for several local stores for several years. Today I only do work directly for my customers, its what I enjoy doing. I spent 6 years in the Navy repairing electronics so I know exactly how today's electronic timepieces work.
     Mine is a homebased business and licensed by Boward County & Coral Springs. In 1977 Florida required watchmakers to be licensed. I took and passed the required test only to have Florida do away with licensing one year later, my licence is posted on my wall still.
